Seven Gables Restaurant – Nov. 2007

img_2122Perfection does not come about often or easily, but local renowned chef, Alain Bouzouba, and his restaurant, Seven Gables, offer their guests a slice of heaven every day.

Growing up in the south of France, food was the center of life. Combine that with a family of competitors who were always trying to outdo each other at family gatherings and you have a recipe for success. Through this friendly competition which included his mother and sisters, Bouzouba learned and perfected the art of cooking.

The chef further enhanced his skills while working at world-famous restaurants such as the Capital City Club in Atlanta and the Ritz Carlton. During this time he took advantage of the opportunities to study recipes and procedures which he would one day mold into his own art.

Eighteen years ago, Bouzouba decided it was time to put together a restaurant that reflected his skills and personality. Having his own place gives the chef a chance to put a personal touch on everything he does.

The restaurant is named in recognition of the number of gables on the renovated house. When you drive up, it will feel as though you have been invited to a friend’s warm and comfortable home. A magnificent fireplace in the main dining room sets the atmosphere for an intimate dining experience.

While you are enjoying your freshly cooked meal, you can expect a visit from Chef Alain who takes his hat off in the evening to welcome his guests, making sure that everyone is enjoying themselves. You may even get a chance to meet and greet the Bouzoubas’ daughters who occasionally work in the restaurant to help out their mom and dad.

Delicious does not begin to describe their fare at Seven Gables. The food and the service are exceptional. Begin your meal with their delectable salad which is as pleasing to the eye as to the palate. A combination of romaine lettuce, artichoke, hearts of palm, cucumbers, tomatoes, black olives, and onions are tossed with a freshly made vinaigrette.

Another favorite at Seven Gables is the crab ravioli. The ravioli is made fresh everyday and served with a warm sauce. Follow this with one of their over-the-top entrees such as Dover sole. After being perfectly baked, the whole fish is served at the table. Your waiter will debone and filet the fish right before your eyes. Combined with fresh vegetables and roasted potatoes, this makes a fantastic meal.

If you are a meat lover, the roasted rack of lamb is a superb choice. Roasted with rosemary, this dish melts in your mouth.

If there is no room for dessert, the restaurant is more than pleased to prepare it to go. You don’t want to miss the opportunity to indulge in fine French pastries and baked goods. The crème brule is highly recommended but you won’t go wrong whatever you choose. All pastries and breads are made daily by Mounira and served fresh these tasty treats are available for order as well.

The restaurant is a great place for families, friends or business. It features a full bar and a buffet area that can accommodate large gatherings or intimate affairs. Chef Alain and his staff are eager to make your acquaintance and share with you fine French Cuisine.
